One of the joys of summer is the local summer concert series. I’m not talking the big expensive events like those held at the Bank Boston Pavilion, but the local events in city/town squares, commons, greens and parks. I know that I have in the past enjoyed the Framingham Concerts on the Green on Friday nights as well as the Vineyard Haven Band performances on summer Sunday evenings alternating between Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs and Owen Park in Vineyard Haven. Fun, simple, and usually free – they are a great way to enjoy a summer evening.
Today we are shining the spotlight on the Keene Music Festival Summer Series in Keene, NH. This music series occurs every Friday evening and some Saturday evenings on Railroad Square in downtown Keene, NH. Concerts run from late June through the end of August. Acts for the remainder of summer 2012 include:
- Friday, July 27nd: Version 6
- Friday, August 3rd: TBA
- Friday, August 10th: Judy Fine Singers and Musicians
- Friday, August 17th: Fuzzy Logic
- Friday, August 24th: David Smith
- Friday, August 31st: Skalawag/Christina Renee Band
So if your travels take you to Keene this summer, be sure to check it out.
