Last year (2011) the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) had a very successful exhibition entitled “Golden: Dutch and Flemish Masterworks from the Rose-Marie and Eijk van Otterloo Collection“. The exhibition showed works of 17th-century Dutch and Flemish art from the private Van Otterloo Collection.
Because of the success of last years exhibition, the PEM will reprise last year’s event and kick off “Golden Light, Selections from the Van Otterloo Collection” on Saturday August 11, 2012. Golden Light will feature 17th century paintings through masterworks by Hendrick Avercamp, Frans Hals, Pieter Claesz, Jan Brueghel the Elder and others. The exhibition will run through September 1, 2013.
