While we do not typically write about things that happen outside of New England, we make exceptions when they have a New England connection. That is why we want to bring to your attention that you can learn more about the Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) at Paddlesport 2011 this coming weekend (March 25 through March 27) at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ.
Learn of one woman’s experience when she decided to paddle the trail alone at the age of 50 (the whole trail – all 740 miles of it!). She and NFCT executive director Kate Williams will be presenting Paddling the Northern Forest Canoe Trail on Friday (3/25) at 4 PM, Saturday (3/26) at 10 AM, and Sunday (3/27) at 2 PM.
Not familiar with the Northern Forest Canoe Trail? – It is a 740 mile canoe trail that starts in New York and ends in Maine. The bulk of the trail is in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
