The New England Carousel Museum was founded in 1990 in Bristol, Connecticut. The museum occupies the first floor of the Bristol Center for the Arts and displays a collection of carousel art and memorabilia including a collection of antique carousel horses. It has one of the largest collections of antique carousel pieces in the United States.
For anyone who as visited any of New England’s working antique carousels, this is another way to experience the magic of antique carousels.
Co-located with the Carousel Museum are the Museum of Fire History, and the Greek Museum of Art and History.
The museum has a restoration department that restores and maintains antique carousels. They also have the contract to maintain and operate the Bushnell Park Carousel in Hartford.
Hours of Operation
The New England Carousel Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday from noon to 5 PM.
