Located on the Hyannis waterfront, the Cape Cod Maritime Museum opened in the Spring of 2004. It is dedicated to preserving the rich maritime traditions and history of Cape Cod and the Islands. The museum launched a new primary exhibit in 2011 called “Making Waves: Maritime Ventures on Cape Cod”. This exhibit presents artifacts from almost 400 years of Cape Cod’s maritime history.
The museum is also home to rotating exhibits such as cultural exhibits, marine artifacts, shipwrecks, as well as events such as maritime festivals, and children’s programs. Other attractions of the museum include:
- Boat building and other classes
- Education programs for kids and teens
- Sailing charters aboard the 1886 Crosby catboat replica Sarah

- Mid-March through Mid-December: Tuesday to Saturday from 10 AM to PM
- Mid-March through Mid-December: Sunday from 12 Noon to 4 PM
