Located on the campus of Middlebury College, this historic ski resort is open to both students and the public. The facility has 17 trails. There are slopes that cater to skiers of all skill levels. The Middlebury College Ski team, who have won many college championships, calls this facility home.
There are many hotels located in close proximity to the college so that out of town guests and family members of students can enjoy a long weekend at the resort.
When visitors need a break from the slopes, they can relax in the renovated lodge. Guests can grab a bite to eat or warm up by the fireplace.
The facility has an onsite rental center where visitors can rent both skis and snowboards. Items can be rented in adult, junior and children‘s sizes. Visitors have the choice of renting equipment for a full day or a half day. Skiers who own their own equipment can also get repairs done at the facility.
The resort has a snow school where students and visitors can take lessons. Skiers can learn in a group atmosphere or take a private lesson. Teachers can show new skiers the basics or help advanced skiers to brush up on their skills. There is also a snowflake trail where children can play and explore.
The Middlebury College ski team both practices and races at the facility. The resort also hosts the Iguana Cup, a well known race for high school students. Many local high schools will also regularly race at Middlebury.
Lift tickets are available at weekday and weekend rates and can be purchased for a full or a half day. Discounts are offered to Middlebury students and alumni. All other adults pay full price for their tickets and further discounts are given to senior citizens and children under six. Frequent visitors can obtain a season pass good for unlimited lift rides all season.
Visitors can stay at nearby venues overnight such as the Russell Young Farm Bed and Breakfast or the Middlebury Inn. Guests can enjoy food and drinks in the Middlebury cafeteria and lodge conveniently located at the resort. If visitors would like to eat offsite there are many restaurants close by including Two Brothers Tavern, Jessica’s Swift House Inn and Jackson’s on the River.
