New Hampshire residents have been skiing at Whaleback Mountain since 1955. Sadly, the original ski area closed in 2001. In 2005, new investors purchased the area and Whaleback Mountain was back in working condition providing more options for summer and winter fun than before.
Whaleback Mountain provides action sports lovers with the chance to ski, snowboard, bike, skate and more. During the winter season, visitors can enjoy themselves on any or all of the 30 trails and 2 terrain parks. In the warm weather the mountain area does not go unused. Whaleback offers a variety of spring and summer activities including paintball, inline skating and bike racing.
Whaleback is the perfect destination for a day out, a family vacation or a school trip.
Snowboards, skis, helmets, poles and boots can be rented for the day at Whaleback Mountain. Adults ages 18 to 64 all pay the same price. Discount pricing is available for children 17 and under and seniors age 65 and over. Frequent mountain visitors can obtain an unlimited season rental pass.
The ski training program at Whaleback Mountain is headed by a two time Olympic competitor. The Whaleback staff can provide safe and fun lessons for people of all ages and skill levels. Lesson reservations are highly encouraged and can be made before your trip by calling Whaleback. Both group and private lessons are available.
Whaleback is home to a mountain race league that competes on Thursday nights. Teams are made up for four competitors, one which must be the opposite sex of the rest of the team members. Singles looking to compete can contact Whaleback and the staff can place them on a team. Pricing and league rules are available on the Whaleback website.
Lift tickets are available in three different price ranges: adult (19-64), youth (ages 13-18) and child/senior (under the age of 13 or over the age of 64). Lift tickets are sold in full day, half day or two hour night increments. A variety of season pass options are available for guests who visit regularly. Season pass packages are available for family, military, unlimited and college.
After a day on the slopes, visitors can enjoy a fun night at the Whaleback Pub. The pub has a large TV, a pool table, delicious food and plenty of beer specials. In addition, guests can enjoy live music or even reserve their own section of the pub for a birthday party. The Whaleback Lodge is available to rent for large events and can hold over 200 people.
