Description

Granite Gorge is a ski area positioned on the border of the towns of Keene and Roxbury in New Hampshire. The ski area offers both alpine skiing and cross-country skiing. Snowshoeing is also available.

Granite Gorge features a stellar tubing park that is fun for both children and adults. Riders can choose from a single or double person tube. Kids under the age of five may not participate in snow tubing.

Due to Granite Gorge’s close proximity to Keene High School and Keene State College, the ski area hosts many events in conjunction with these two learning institutions.

Season passes and gift certificates to Granite Gorge make great surprises for a birthday present or holiday gift for a winter sports lover. Both can be purchased on the Granite Gorge website.

Rentals

The onsite rental shop allows guest to rent snowboards, skis and equipment for full or half day use. Cross-country skis are also available to rent. Granite Gorge offers a few rental and lift ticket combo packages and specials. Since these offers are subject to change it is recommended to contact the ski area before a visit for current pricing.

Lessons

Ski lessons are offered twice a day on weekends or by scheduling an appointment. Lessons can be taken privately or with a group. There are also semi-private lessons available for small groups. The mountain has a snow sport school which has a variety of specialized programs including a snowboard clinic, an intro to racing class and youth training. Forms to register for the snow sport school can be found on the Granite Gorge website.

Racing

Many local high schools race at Granite Gorge. The Keene High School division 1 state champion girls’ alpine ski team and the boys’ state champion cross-country ski team both consider Granite Gorge their home base. Granite Gorge also hosts Friday night racing opportunities for guests once a month from January through March.

Lift Tickets

Lift tickets for alpine skiing and snowboarding are available in full or half day brackets. Prices are broken down by the following age ranges:

  • Senior (65 and over)
  • Adult (18-64)
  • Junior (ages 6-17)

College students with a current ID can receive a discounted rate.

Amenities

Lodging is available at many local venues including the Applegate Bed & Breakfast andthe Chesterfield Inn. Many affordable restaurants are close to Granite Gorge. Some popular choices include the Olive Garden, Brady’s American Grill and Friendly’s. Nightlife lovers can grab a drink and listen to music at Gino’s Bar & Grill or Kali’s Sports Pub.
